Non-Photographers | How It Works

How Does it Work?

At Lemon Drop Studios, we offer a unique photography rental venue experience. You can book our studio spaces by the hour, which grants you access to our various amenities, custom sets, and studio spaces. It's important to note that when you rent time on our website, it does not include a photographer for your session.

Diverse Studio Spaces: Our property boasts three distinct rental areas: Studio A, Studio B with access to the Outdoor Garden, and our Greenhouse. Each of these spaces has its own unique character and offers a variety of amenities to suit different photography needs.

Seasonal Updates for Fresh Experiences: Throughout the year, we periodically update our studio designs, furniture, and other amenities to keep our spaces fresh and inspiring. To help you stay informed about these changes, we provide a "yearly calendar." This calendar, released at the start of each year, details when these updates will occur. View the calendar here.

Photography Services at Your Fingertips: If you're looking to have professional photos taken at Lemon Drop Studios, we've got you covered. We offer a carefully curated list of preferred photographers, each a skilled professional whom we highly recommend. To explore our list of photographers at your convenience, click here. At Lemon Drop Studios, we strive to provide a versatile and creatively stimulating environment, ensuring your photography sessions are both successful and memorable.

How Soon Should I Plan Out Taking My Photos?

You should give enough time before your session for a potential reschedule if needed, if you need to print holiday cards or prints for an event, or in time to get edited images back.

For example: if you want to send Christmas cards, factor in time for your photographer to edit the images, order your Christmas cards, address them, and get them in the mail. The closer you get to Christmas, the more of a time crunch you will be under. We open Christmas photos starting in October just for this reason.

Another example: if you need photos for your child’s first birthday, you want to try and take the photos 4-6 weeks before their birthday. That way, if you have to reschedule at all you still have time. You will also have the edited photos back before their birthday and can even make prints or post on the day of their birthday.

How to Pick the Best Photographer?

There are several things to consider in choosing a photographer, but these are some of the most important.

  • Posed vs. Candid: Do you prefer static images where everyone is looking and smiling at the camera? Or do you prefer movement and emotion being captured? The photos in a photographer’s portfolio will give you a great idea of what your photos will look like.

  • Style: Do you like light and airy? Dark and moody? An experienced photographer will have a consistent style throughout their portfolio.

  • The Experience: Do they offer a client closet and styling assistance? Do they have access to a studio space? Are they available for questions you might have? What's it like to work with them? Find these things out before booking!
