Are dogs allowed in the studio?

Well behaved pets are allowed at the studios. They must remain on leash, especially in the garden, and you are responsible for any damages that occur during their stay. We also ask you clean up very well from their visit. 

Where do we put our trash?

Trash cans are located in each bathroom. There are also outdoor trash cans in the gravel area in the garden. We ask that any dirty diapers, large items, or stinky items please go to the outdoor trash cans.

Do you have cleaning supplies?

There are cleaning supplies like brooms, dustpans, and vacuums in Studio A and B storage closets. Storage closets are located within the dressing rooms. There are cleaning wipes, glass cleaner, and paper towels in Studio A, B, and office bathroom for your use too. We ask you use any cleaning supplies you need for your sessions. 

How do I enter and exit Studio A and Studio B?

We have three areas you can rent at Lemon Drop Studios. Studio A, Studio B, and the Greenhouse. To enter Studio A and B, you go to the front of the building located on Anthony Street. The front of the doors are labeled with a large A or B for their respective doors. You type in the code given in your email into the door keypad. That will give you access inside. Please lock doors behind you when done, they don’t automatically lock. To lock you push the padlock emblem on the bottom right of the keypad. Please make sure the other exterior exit door on each side is locked too. 

How to I enter and exit my Greenhouse booking?

There are three gate entrances to the Garden where the Greenhouse is located. Two tall wooden gates on Johnson street (to the left of the building) and one small iron gate In the front of the building on Anthony Street. The codes for the tall wooden gates are on the door handle. The iron gate has a small padlock you unlock. Codes will be given in your booking email. You may enter or exit any gate of your choosing. Just please make sure they are closed when your rental time is complete. 

Does Studio A have Garden and Greenhouse access?

Not at this time. Studio A is an indoor only booking to keep traffic more minimal in the garden area. The price is less than other bookings, which reflects that.

Does Studio B have Greenhouse and Garden access? 

Yes. There are double doors that lead to the backyard from directly inside of Studio B or you can enter through a gate to the Garden. The Greenhouse is a separate booking, but if no one is using it, feel free to take pictures with it. If someone has the Greenhouse exclusively booked, then it’s theirs and please avoid the area immediately around the Greenhouse. However, the rest of the Garden can be yours to use during your Studio B booking time.

Is there access to a restroom with our Greenhouse booking?

Yes. You have access to our office which is climate controlled with a bathroom for you and your clients’ use. The office is located in the garden by the white benches. 

Where can my clients wait until I’m ready for their photos?

There are benches in front of the building on Anthony Street for Studio A and B that you may have clients wait outside if you wish. For your Greenhouse clients, please have them wait on the white benches by the office and not on the large porch swing. This is especially important if you are having mini sessions so they aren’t getting in other session’s way of other photographer’s photos.

Who has access to the porch swing in the garden? 

Studio B has primary access to the porch swing but if you are at the Greenhouse and no one is using it, than feel free to use it for photos. It is NOT a waiting area for any clients but a photo area instead. 

Where is the best parking? 

We have three private parking spots, including a handicap parking spot, on Johnson street (to the left of our building. You may park in front of our building all the way until you see the “no parking from here to corner sign” on Anthony street. (The sign is there so you don’t park on the corner and block visibility around the corner for incoming traffic) There is also a free parking garage one block away. The address is: Davis St Garage. 260 E Davis St McKinney, TX 75069. There is more free parking spots along Tennessee street and up and down Anthony Street.

How do I use the farmhouse sink in Studio A?

The farmhouse sink can be used for any manner of photography. There is a rubber stopper in the sink if you need it to hold water, and extra soaps under the sink for your use. We also have extra towels in the right hand side of the cabinets if you forgot your own. Just inform us if you use one so we know to come and wash it please. We also ask you give yourself enough time to clean up from the mess of soap, bubbles, and kiddos when you are done. 

When is the best light for the Greenhouse?

The last 5 hours of the day is the best light for the Greenhouse. The last 3 hours of the day is perfect! Unfortunately, it has full sun in the morning. 

Can I have events at Lemon Drop Studios? 

Events have custom pricing and have to be approved for the time and duration needed for that day. We base availability on the type of event. Please contact us for further information.

Are cake smashes allowed?

Yes. Just please give yourself enough time to clean up from the cake smash. Cleaning products are available in both Studio A and Studio B. There are potential fines for leaving a mess. 

Do you include any additional photography items like light stands or flash photography items?

At this time we have a backdrop stand in the storage closet of Studio A for your use, but no other items like off camera lighting or flash photography items. We do plan to include them in the future and will make an announcement when we do. 

Do you have a newborn posing bean bag?  

Yes. In the Studio A closet. 

When is the best light for Studio A? 

All day. The building faces North with southern windows so the light is beautiful all day. The farmhouse sink never gets direct light. The most direct light Studio A has is in the morning since the sun rises on that side of the building and there is still plenty of room to avoid the direct light. 

When is the best light for Studio B?

All day since it has northern and southern facing windows. The most direct light it has in the last two hours of the day since the sun sets in that side of the building. It’s also easily avoidable. 

Is glitter or confetti allowed?

No glitter is allowed inside or outside. Large confetti is only allowed inside and if it’s cleaned up well. There are potential fines for poor cleanup. Confetti is not allowed outside since it’s pretty impossible to cleanup unfortunately. There will be fines for outdoor confetti or glitter. 

How do I become a studio ambassador?

We open enrollment for ambassadors 2-3 times a year at this time. It will always be announced on social media and our new quarterly email. 

What is your cancellation/reschedule/refund policy?

You can reschedule or cancel before two weeks of your booking appointment for Studio A and B bookings. If it’s within two weeks of Studio A or B, you have to contact us to reschedule and a booking credit will be given. No refunds will be issued within that two week time period but before two weeks a refund will be given. Greenhouse is within 24 hours since it’s an outdoor booking for refunds and reschedules.

Do you offer 30 minute bookings?

Not at this time. You can add 30 minutes to any booking you have made if the time is available, but you can’t do a single 30 minute booking on its own. 

What if I need setup and tear down time?

We created a 30 minute add-on time if you need more time to set-up or tear down from your session. This is especially great for milestone sessions like birthdays, cake smashes, or holiday sessions with extra props.

Can I bring my own decorations and furniture pieces?

Of course! We welcome you to bring additional items you need for your session to make it special and unique to you.

What if I need images to promote to my clients?

You are more than welcome to use stock images we create on our socials or message us for the images for us to send you. You are also welcome to attend any “promo days” we offer at the beginning of each season. They are $20 for 20 minutes. Those slots are limited though.
