Camera-Ready Comfort: Chic Looks That are Athleisure
As a photographer, comfort and functionality are non-negotiable—but let’s be honest, looking cute doesn’t hurt either. This summer, while juggling long shoot days, unpredictable weather, and the constant need to crouch, stretch, and move, I finally cracked the code on outfits that do it all.
I stumbled into a sweet spot: athletic-inspired looks that transition seamlessly from summer to fall. Think breathable layers you can throw on or peel off as the day changes, pockets (yes—actual, usable pockets!), and silhouettes that let you move freely without sacrificing style. These pieces aren’t quite full-on activewear, but they’ve got that same flexibility and ease, with a more elevated, everyday vibe.
Maybe my favorite outfit of the bunch
Part of what led me to rework my wardrobe was an ankle injury I got last November. It’s been a slow healing process, and I’ve had to prioritize stability and support in every step—literally. That means sturdy tennis shoes have become a staple in my daily outfits, especially on shoot days. The problem? It’s tough to pair chunky sneakers with clothes that still feel put-together and flattering. That’s where these outfits come in. They work with the shoes—not against them—and give me the confidence to show up for my clients without compromising my comfort or my recovery. I can move the way I need to, feel good in what I’m wearing, and focus on capturing the magic in front of my lens. This flannel is perfect for fall too! Link to it HERE
Finding outfits that support both my body and my workflow has made a huge difference—not just in how I move, but in how I feel while working. These athletic-inspired looks give me the freedom to focus on what I love most: connecting with clients and creating beautiful images. If you’re in a season of transition—whether it’s the weather or your own healing journey—I hope these pieces help you feel just as confident, capable, and camera-ready.
