Bringing Our Valentine Sets to Life: A Country Galentine’s Styled Shoot
One of our favorite parts of creating custom backdrops at Lemon Drop Studios is seeing how differently they can be styled—and this Country Galentine’s styled shoot was the perfect example of just how versatile our Valentine’s sets can be.
Using all three of this year’s Valentine backdrops, we leaned into a fun, colorful, country-inspired Galentine’s theme, complete with bold outfits, playful props, layered textures, and lots of personality. The goal wasn’t perfection—it was movement, laughter, and letting the girls truly have fun in front of the camera.
Why Styled Shoots Matter
Styled shoots are such a powerful creative tool. They give photographers the freedom to experiment, try new posing, test lighting, and tell a story—without the pressure of a traditional client session. For studios, they also show just how much range a single backdrop can have when paired with the right styling.
This shoot took romantic Valentine sets and transformed them into something bold, energetic, and completely different, proving that sets don’t have to be used just one way.
Accessories Make the Magic ✨
One of the biggest takeaways from this shoot? Accessories change everything.
Hats, drinks, florals, purses, scarves, boots, and playful Valentine props gave the girls something to interact with—and that interaction is what makes photos feel natural and alive. Instead of standing still and wondering what to do with their hands, they were laughing, holding props, adjusting accessories, and moving freely.
Not only does this make clients feel more comfortable, but it also:
Creates natural posing
Adds texture and dimension to images
Helps tell a story within the photo
Makes sessions feel fun and relaxed
Clients love having something to hold, and it shows in the final images.
Same Backdrops, Totally Different Vibe
What we love most about this Country Galentine’s shoot is that it used the exact same Valentine backdrops—yet the final images feel completely fresh and unique. The Valentine Shop became playful and bold. The Box of Chocolate wall leaned colorful and graphic. The soft blush draping turned into the perfect backdrop for layered outfits and statement accessories.
This is the beauty of intentional set design: when the base is strong, the styling possibilities are endless.
Encouragement to Get Creative
If you’ve ever thought about doing a styled shoot—this is your sign. Whether it’s for portfolio building, creative burnout, or just for fun, styled shoots are a reminder of why we love this work in the first place.
At Lemon Drop Studios, our spaces are designed to support creativity, movement, and personality. We can’t wait to see how photographers continue to reimagine these Valentine sets and make them their own.
