An Insider Look at Our 2026 Custom Valentine’s Sets at Lemon Drop Studios šŸ’•

Valentine’s season is officially here at Lemon Drop Studios, and this year we went all out creating three custom Valentine’s backdrops designed to feel timeless, playful, and on-trend—all while offering endless versatility for every age and stage of life. From families and little ones to high school seniors, couples, and even best-friend sessions, these sets were thoughtfully styled to work beautifully across the board.

If you’ve been curious about what’s inside our Valentine’s setup this year and how we brought each look to life, here’s your insider peek.

Set One: The Valentine Shop šŸ’

Our first Valentine’s set is what we lovingly call The Valentine Shop—a custom-built backdrop designed to feel like stepping into the sweetest little boutique. From the moment we started planning this set, our vision was romantic, elevated, and timeless, with just the right amount of whimsy.

The structure is painted in Ballet Mauve, a soft, dusty pink that photographs beautifully and complements a wide range of skin tones and outfit choices. To bring the shop to life, we partnered with R. Love Floral, who created lush, custom florals cascading across the top and framing the windows and doors. The mix of soft blush, cream, and pops of classic Valentine red adds depth, texture, and a truly high-end feel.

Each window is styled with sweet Valentine’s details—think candies, hearts, and boutique-style dĆ©cor—giving photographers multiple angles and storytelling moments within one set. The scale of this backdrop makes it ideal for families, sibling groups, couples, seniors, and even branding-style sessions, while still feeling cozy and intentional.

This set reflects one of this year’s biggest Valentine’s trends: romantic storefront aesthetics paired with soft color palettes and layered florals. It’s charming without feeling childish, polished without being too formal, and versatile enough to work for clients of all ages.

Set Two: The Box of Chocolate Rolling Wall šŸ«

Our second Valentine’s set is a fully custom 8x8 rolling wall, thoughtfully designed to offer maximum flexibility and beautiful light throughout the day. One of our favorite features of this backdrop is its mobility—because it can be moved around the studio, photographers can always position it in the best available light, no matter the time of day.

The wall is painted in Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige, a soft, neutral tone that keeps the set feeling light, airy, and timeless. Against that backdrop, we created our own version of a ā€œbox of chocolateā€ heart wall, inspired by classic Valentine’s packaging but reimagined in a modern, elevated way.

Each heart was handmade using foam board, with larger statement pieces crafted from Green Guard unfaced foam board insulation to create dimension and layering. The hearts are wrapped in a mix of peel-and-stick wallpapersfeaturing soft pinks, delicate florals, and subtle stripes, giving the wall visual variety while still photographing cohesively. To complete the look, we added doilies and bows, bringing in that sweet, nostalgic Valentine’s feel.

The scale of this set makes it ideal for individual portraits, siblings, couples, and small groups, and it works beautifully with added furniture for seated poses or styled setups. It’s a go-to backdrop for all ages and one that can easily be dressed up or kept simple, depending on the session.

This set taps into one of this year’s Valentine’s trends we love most: neutral bases paired with layered texture and soft pattern, making it playful without being overpowering—and endlessly versatile for photographers and clients alike.

Set Three: Soft Draped Blush Backdrop šŸŽ€

Our third Valentine’s set is all about soft texture, movement, and versatility. While it feels romantic and elevated, it was intentionally designed to be practical, kid-friendly, and photographer-approved.

Instead of using a traditional backdrop stand—which can be bulky, awkward, and often requires extra Photoshop work—we mounted a 2x4 directly into the wall studs, placing it 7.5 feet high. This allowed us to create a clean, seamless drape without visible hardware, keeping the space safe and visually polished.

We used eight panels of ā€œBlush Pinkā€ polyester event curtain drapes from tableclothsfactory.com, which ended up being a perfect fit for the space. As the panels were stapled to the wood, we pleated the fabric at the top for added texture and a soft, elevated look. Once secured, we gathered the fabric into loose, pretty bunches and safety-pinned them together, creating natural draping and movement throughout the backdrop. Adding bows where the fabric meets was the final touch, bringing in subtle Valentine charm without overwhelming the set.

This backdrop is perfect for Valentine’s sessions because it’s romantic without being overly themed. It photographs beautifully for children, teens, maternity, couples, and even branding sessions. It also works wonderfully for brands or creatives looking to capture pre-spring imagery, making it one of the most versatile sets of the season.

This design reflects one of our favorite current trends: intentional simplicity paired with soft color and texture, proving that Valentine’s sets don’t have to be covered in hearts to feel festive and special.

This year’s Valentine’s sets at Lemon Drop Studios were thoughtfully designed with creativity, versatility, and real-life usability in mind. From the romantic charm of the Valentine Shop, to the playful-yet-neutral Box of Chocolate wall, to the soft, draped blush backdrop, each set offers something unique while still flowing beautifully together. Our goal is always to create spaces that inspire photographers, photograph well for every age, and feel elevated without being overdone. These Valentine’s setups are available for a limited time, and we can’t wait to see how they’re styled, captured, and brought to life inside the studio this season. šŸ’•
